Senior Developer, Integrations

At OP Insurance domain we have started to do something big; a large platform transformation that will support our business in the future. In this renewal, we are transforming our insurance business into a new Guidewire Insurance Suite platform. Thanks to this transformation, in the future we are going to be able to handle insurance, billing & collections and claims all in one platform! This revolutionizes our insurance business by adding automation to our back-end processes and improving the customer experience and internal user experience – so it’s a win-win for everyone!

What is the role like? 

We are currently looking for a Senior Developer to focus on this transformation, and especially its Integrations. As a Senior Developer, you will participate strongly to the hands-on software development work our team is doing. You will work closely e.g., with other Software Developers, Tech Leads and Solution Analysts. You will be working with development teams that have members both onsite and offsite. 

Besides hands on software development, you also get to participate in technology and architectural discussions and design with our IT architects and Tech Leads. As you will work in a Senior role, we expect you are willing to share your expertise and knowledge also to the other members of the team.
This position is located in Helsinki, Finland. Like the rest of OP, we work flexibly, combining both office days and remote work

What we hope from you? 

We expect you to have strong, hands-on experience from software development, and willingness to learn new technologies. You already have experience in building integrations and you have worked with Cloud based solutions. From technical point of view, you should have previous knowledge from following: Java, JSON, REST, modern Java/Kafka integration setups.

 
As you will work with Guidewire solutions, previous experience from similar solutions is seen as a big advantage. In case Guidewire is rather new topic to you, a positive attitude and willingness to learn the essentials of the core Insurance platforms hands-on are considered a must. 

As you will co-operate with many different stakeholders (both onshore and offshore), you need to have excellent communication skills in English. We also wish you to have previous experience working in a global team.
